Competitive Events 2026-2027
Choose your event.
FBLA has dozens of competitive events, from public speaking and business plans to coding and graphic design. Pick the one that fits you, then claim it in the member portal before somebody else does.
Benefits
Which Event Should I Pick?
Picking an event can be tough sometimes.
There are three things worth thinking about before you commit to one.
Your Skills
Are you better at public speaking, testing knowledge, writing, or hands-on projects?
Event Format
Individual or team, presentation or objective test, short prep or a long-term project. The format changes how much time you will actually spend on it.
Your Future Goals
Ask yourself if the event that you are thinking of doing aligns with what you want to be in the future
Every event, in one place.
Search it, filter it, open anything that looks interesting. When you find yours, claim it in the member portal so an officer knows.
Event names and formats change from year to year. Check the official FBLA competitive events guidelines and confirm with an officer before you commit to one.
Claim your event in the portalHow sign-ups work
Four steps, and the clock is running.
Events are claimed live in the member portal. One team or one person per event, first come first served. Once an event is taken it disappears from the board, so know what you want before sign-ups open.
01
Pick your event
Browse the official FBLA list and find the event that fits your skills and how much prep you want to do.
02
Log into the portal
Sign in with your member account. If you have not made one yet, do that before sign-ups open, not during.
03
Claim it
Open the events board and hit claim. The board updates live, so you can watch what is still open and what has gone.
04
Add your team
For team events, whoever claims it becomes the captain and picks teammates straight from the member list.
Ready
Sign-ups happen in the portal.
There is no form to fill out this year. Log into the member portal, open the events board, and claim the event you want. You will see instantly whether it is still available.
One per event
Once a team or a person claims an event, it comes off the board for everybody else. There is no second place in line.
Up to three events
Each member can hold three events at a time. Release one from the board if you change your mind.
Officers hold the clock
The board only takes claims while officers have sign-ups open, usually during a meeting. Be logged in before it starts.
